i had health insurance from nj plus/horizon blue cross blue shield and i was covered thru my mother’s plan she has thru work. She’s pretty sure when i turned 19 i was dropped because i wasnt a full time student but was never sure and never found out for me the many times i asked. i’m almost 20 now and i still have no idea if i’m insured or not. I have my insurance cards but it doesnt really say anything on finding out if your still covered… does anyone know a way i can find out or like somewhere i could even put in my ID number and see if im still covered? I really need to know because i really need to see a few doctors.

Call up the provider and ask. Just the general enquiries or claims number on your card will do…they all have access to the systems to see if you’re covered.

Affordable Insurance as Provided by Anthem Insurance

What people in California know as the Anthem Blue Cross insurance has links to the Anthem insurance. Anthem insurance is an established player in the market of medical insurance for a long time now and the company is known for cheap and affordable health insurance.

In the first half of this decade, the company merged the Blue Cross Blue Shield organizations coming from many states and moving from non-profit status to a profit company. Anthem Blue Cross is a known provider of affordable health insurance and one of the names most Californians know. The name has been in the state for some seven decades now and the name is known to provide health and financial security. Some data placed the number of customers of these health insurance providers at 8.3 million in the state of California alone. The affordable health insurance of Anthem Blue Cross insurance works because the insurance provider focuses on two things; it focuses on quality and there is a focus on community involvement.

• Quality. In terms of quality, the medical insurance from Blue Cross is well-known. The Anthem Blue Cross HMO and the POS have earned something that will make the consumers of their health insurance plan proud. The insurance provider was awarded the Excellent Accreditation status and this citation was given by the Committee for Quality Assurance or the NCQA. The accreditation and the citation don’t end there. The company is also the first and the only PPO in the state of California that have earned the Full Accreditation coming from the NCQA5. The Full Accreditation is the highest level any PPO can get. This provider also launched the Zagat Survey which is an online tool that can allow for customer-provider interaction. This serve as the platform where consumers can share their own experiences. The consumers can freely use the survey online and this can be accessed thru the consumer’s health plan site.

• Community participation. Anthem insurance and now Blue Cross is known for its participation in community building. The health insurance provider has been funding research studies in some California universities and the some of these researches include a focus on the need for cancer screenings and to the need to increase the immunization rates on children. The insurance provider also opened the www.nuestrobien.com, a site that caters to the Hispanic community and urging them to live a healthy life. It also partnered with the federal government in promoting fitness and sports thru the many programs.

Anthem insurance is a known provider of medical insurance and it is backed by its affordable health insurance is backed by services. It also has unique product offerings that may cater to the individual, the small and the large group. The product range will include that special provision for special services and unique education. The product range will also include dental, vision and life health insurance coverage and more importantly Blue Cross also has its Health Management Program.

Blue Cross Blue Shield Eye Care in San Diego?

Where can I get my daughter eye exams and cheap glassses new. on a budget for about $ 100 dollars im. What is the place except my insurance and how can I find a cheap place?

I work for an insurance company. Call your insurance customer service number on the back of your card to obtain information on preferred and participating providers your area, as well as applicable copays or other debts. Do not take provider (the doctor) Office Word if they say they "take" or "accept" your insurance. Only your insurance company can tell you if a particular provider is better or not, because in most cases, the provider office has not any clue about their participation in the network. Beware of any other person (the mouth) said that a particular doctor, hospital, etc. are within your network. Their plan may be different than yours. Again, the best thing for you to do is call your insurance company.

I am currently looking at purchase individual dental insurance plan. Is Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Select Dental and Delta Dental Premier Individual choice better? I difficult to decide.

Honey my work has had several dental plans over the years and none of them is very good at all. When I go to the dentist I pay my copay and then later they charge me for another $ 60 or not. In general, Blue Cross is a better health insurance, but I do not know not.

How America has tried to kill me and failed

America today is not a place to be old or sick.

Dear reader

Remember those old "My Summer Vacation" compositions we have had to write when we returned to school in September? This year, I failed the assignment. Here I am sitting in Provence France on October 1, 2008 asking what the hell happened to my summer.

Although I live in this paradise was, with hindsight, I remember the impromptu getaway bikini beaches, not palm of refreshing in the Mediterranean, not fine dining in elegant restaurants, not just a barbecue or picnic or walk in the woods. I remember how between July and now is hitting those keys damnable thousands of time each day to reformulate the first book I ever wrote (in 1975!) about Chinese astrology – in French!

What I did with my summer might as well have been done during the winter. I stayed inside. I almost never out of my nightgown. (To better keep me in writing). I visited four different peoples' houses for nice French family dinners. I rode in Bargemon (a nearby village) once for lunch with my friend in California, Elizabeth has a beautiful house with pool and beautiful fresh new French husband match. As for the summer entertainment.

Oh yes, I write, I walked about 10 different doctors, hospitals, clinics, radiology centers and laboratories testing blood in pursuit of an overview of my current health status.

As you remember, I had breast cancer twice. The first time was 30 years ago.

I lived in the States in 1978. In Sag Harbor in Long Island with my two beautiful daughters. I bought a house there with a head start on a new book that I had to write. Our own house! In America. Children living in America's heart. It was more fun than France. The school was easier and there was more ice it.

In short, we were a merry trio.

Then came the bump on the left breast of mom and then came the deluge.

My first operation for breast cancer was held in New York in July of 1978. When I returned from New York Hospital, have received a postcard saying computerized my excellent health insurance company – Blue Cross / Blue Shield of New York – had canceled my excellent health insurance policy.

I thought there must be some mistake. Why in the name of common sense would be an insurance policy cancellation someone just released after undergoing a mastectomy and were on the verge of chemotherapy a year? I mean, why bother to buy insurance if you is canceled when you are sick?

It took me months to find the answer. Of course, I had to get a lawyer. Blue Cross / Blue Shield of New York would neither speak to me on the phone nor respond to my letters.

For the sake of brevity, I'll tell you now why they told me they canceled.

Blue Cross argued that the information was in my hospital records which indicated that I had breast cancer three years earlier – and therefore, their excuse is that I had a pre-existing condition and therefore lied when I asked the two insurance years ago.

My lawyer friend (holy!) Told them that if I had cancer three years before and had not been treated, I would be very probably not alive to lie on insurance claims.

But they did not want to hear what my lawyer had to say. In those days, (without joke) a patient has not been authorized to obtain registration of the hospital's. Only a lawyer (or doctor of the person) been allowed to have copies. So, my lawyer friend went straight to the hospital to pick up a copy of the document in question.

It is true. The dossier was an entry in the scribbly handwriting However scrawly 1976 "Ca" or something very close to that. (I have all the files somewhere) This totally false entry was written by a young man very sleepy in white coats. His name was / is Ralph Pennino.

Ralph was beautiful and young swaggery. He came around a clipboard and flapping white coat when I was in the hospital bed the day before my operation. His job was to take my story. Ralph asked me a lot of questions. Did I have a history heart disease or diabetes? childhood illnesses and surgeries That I suffered? etc. The normal questions.

I answered all honestly.

He then asked if there was cancer in my family. I told him that my sister had died of cancer breast in 1976. He wrote something. The poor boy seemed asleep on his feet. I thought it was one of those 24 hours overloaded dependent care intern. But it turns out that Ralph Pennino dashing character was not a doctor. Ralph Pennino was just a student Cute Medical loaned by the school of medicine at Georgetown Hospital in New York for a summer learning to ruin peoples lives.

Blue Cross had used false information Ralph cancel my contract.

When I discovered that the mistake was the fault of Ralph Pennino, I called the School of Medicine at Georgetown. The operator very kindly gave me the phone number Ralph's home. I was hopeful. It seemed simple. Ralph could just say he made a booboo in my file and Blue Cross would relent. So I called him.

"Hi Ralph." I said "It's Suzanne White. Remember Me? New York Hospital last July? (It October was close at that time)

"Oh yes, Suzanne. I remember. How are you?" Says the young Ralph.

"Terrible. You wrote something in my hospital record that Blue Cross used to cancel my policy. "

"Really? It is not possible. He said.

"This is not only possible, Ralph. You did it. You even signed the form. " I said.

"Wow. I'm really sorry."

"It is not enough to be sorry, Ralph. You must write a letter to Blue Cross and cc: me and New York Hospital on the letter. And you must do it now. I'm about to start a year of chemotherapy. I need my confidence back. I have no money to pay all these bills that the hospital sent me for all of the operations of Anesthesiologists X-rays and blood tests and surgeons and medicines. I have no money. "I explained.

"What do you tell me? "Asked to young Ralph.

"Just write and say you made a mistake. Tell them that I have not had cancer before. I had never had cancer. Explain that you've written something that was not true, by mistake. "

"Oh, I could not do that. "Ralph said." It would ruin my medical career. "

"Ralph" I said, with as calmly as I could manage. "If you do not write this letter to Blue Cross, you ruined my life and my children. I losing my house and my writing career will be more so. "

"I'm sorry Suzanne. I can not do that." Ralph said and hung up.

I went to my surgeon very high Sloan-Kettering/New York Hospital to ask him to put pressure on the young Ralph Pennino and make him admit his error.

And what my surgeon say? "The boy can not write a letter like that, assuming an error Hospital records of someone. It would ruin his career. "

I probably should have killed the sheriff right then and there, and quickly led to Washington and twisted the neck of the young deputy. (Thanks Eric Clapton), but by the time I was ready to do, I was vomiting my guts after my first chemotherapy treatment – for which, incidentally, I have not had the money to pay.

Volunteered rich father of my children to help us? No, but that's another part of the story and that's too long to develop here.

Why I started this all is to tell you that when I was sick and I lost my house and all that I owned (except children who are afraid of death and yet wonderfully helpful and kind to me during this terrible time.) and had, by some miracle, the course of chemotherapy, without dying, three French friends sent me a ticket on Air France and being told: "Come home" in Paris.

We returned to Paris, where we lived until 1976 and gradually, painfully, one step at a time, we are back on our feet collective. It took years. But we have done – together.

But wait. The main reason that I wanted you all to know this history is that when I returned to Paris in 1980, I discovered that the translation of my first book (The Chinese Astrology Chinese astrology =) was on sale in France as crisp, warm croissants in the morning. Interestingly, is exactly the same book that is maintained today by my publisher in Paris a new publication in 2009. Therefore, all frantic rewriting happening here in my nightgown in the home this summer and why I was arrested in Provence.

Now back to 1980. In France, an editor is considered an employer and must pay a% of income from its author at the National Society of French health insurance. Therefore, in 1980, I was an author whose editor paid a small portion of my royalties as a premium health care to national health insurance company. I have been pay as a%. I am therefore qualified for the French national health system for me and the children.

Through friends, I found excellent doctors in Paris and was followed closely by all. In 1981, they discovered that I had cancer in the other breast. I was made to my second mastectomy at the Institut Curie in Paris. All (Including operation, hospital, anesthesia, train tickets, babysitters and one month in a plush setting off in the south of France where I swam laps every day to regain the use of my arm) was 100% covered by French health insurance system. When U.S. insurance had so ruthlessly tried to kill me, the French insurance company had graciously saved my life.

The French Universal Single Payer Health Care Corporation is why I am alive today. That same insurance company universal health care allowed me This was very spend my precious leisure time subject all those scans and sonograms and blood tests and electro cardiograms and Doppler and colonoscopies, endoscopies etc. Thank you to France. Because of your wonderful, generous, caring, loving, responsible, humane and efficient system of care Health, thirty years after having had breast cancer, I am alive to write this all along.

Would not it be comforting if everyone America, rich and poor, could not be afraid of getting sick or have a disabled child or a serious accident paralyzed?

Is not wonderful not to have to take your foot babies in the cold and wait for hours in an emergency room to get sick care?

In France, doctors do home visits. In America, if you can not pay the doctor's bill collectors come to your home far.

Americans, do yourself a favor. Vote for Obama.

PS We have no more taxes here in France because of health care universal. Health care has nothing to do with our taxes. Taxes are paid on income earned as they are elsewhere. French health system is neither more nor less than an insurance company run by big gov't. Most medical, everything is covered at least 80%. If you do not want no share of 20%, you can buy a cheap private supplementary policy from a private insurance company. They will make the difference. If you have one of the 18 or 20 very serious or chronic, everything is covered 100% until you are well again. You pay premiums based your income. Your employer pays too. If you have questions about how our health care system works in France, write me a line: suzanwhite@aol.com. I will be happy to respond. sw

PPS Many people who read this article on my web site wrote to me wanting to know where Ralph Pennino is today. Ralph is a respected plastic surgeon in Rochester, NY. Face lift anyone? sw

You want to make things happen? Just miss your family and your friends that you are so disgusted with the government, politics and elections that you will not be voting. God, you think I drew a caricature of a sacred religious idol or something.

But I really hit the wall with American policy. Admittedly, I suffer from terrible battles BTSD: Bush Traumatic Stress Syndrome. And I read or listened to many pieces too by or about people like Paul Krugman, Simon Johnson (13 bankers), Elizabeth Warren, Nouriel Roubini, Bill Moyers, Jim Hightower, et al.

I am convinced that as long as Wall Street, big banks, Big Oil, Big Pharma and Big Corporate America Government itself, there will be no change. Ever. Fuelled greed and lobbying campaign contributions means that our government is not to the people and never will be.

Both parties morally bankrupt, and a viable third party will always be out of question unless you count the Tean Party, the Libertarians or the Green Party, I have not. Nope. It is a two party system we will be governed by that corruption always overwrite any real threat to the continuation of its means of collusion.

So call me crazy, call me an idiot, laugh at me, tell me, because I deserve it fully. But I will no longer be a part of the meaning of the Great American Pyramid system. I do not want to participate in this exercise in futility called "right to vote in elections" and I am not mistaken in believing that my vote is important. It does not. I will not give any more credibility to a political system that is not "the people, by the people and for the people … "

At nearly 60, I burn my voter card in knowing that most things do not change, the more they remain the same.

So, you think about starting a family or having another child and you wonder about the costs and how to pay for the birth of a child. Adequate side of the family's financial planning for growth is important. First, you and your partner decide on the number of children they are intended to raise and a rough schedule between births for families considering. financial decisions they make can vary considerably depending on how you answer this question. Second Instead, you need to do today nearly 40% of children in Florida were born by caesarean section and cesarean delivery are twice as expensive as vaginal births. Realizing this must also be a factor in family planning Financial.

So what does it cost?

The June 5 edition of Orlando Florida Business Journal reported than average cesarean between $ 11,000 to $ 20,000 and Hialieah facility charges of up to $ 30,826. vaginal average between $ 6,000 and $ 11,000 statewide. The difference is quite large and the communication with the center gives you a better idea of usage costs you will face. This is confirmed by a national study of the Kaiser Foundation, which suggests that vaginal delivery cost half the price of caesarean and patients with private insurance (including rebates network) the average total cost of $ 13,000 for cesarean delivery.

This which is done if they can not afford insurance.

There are four options for those who are considering having a baby without insurance. First, find a job with a company that offers the benefits of the group is not the easiest option and the current environment is probably not a person should have. You can find some relief, if you can afford the coverage map of Florida to develop under the leadership of Governor Crist.

There are two additional government programs for which you may be eligible. "Women, Infants and Children", a federal program offers assistance to women who meet the guidelines. You can obtain information on this program and how it works in Florida by visiting its website.

Another program that is available to some women through Medicaid. The department is responsible for Medicaid in Florida is theFlorida Department of Health Administration.

The last option is to negotiate a price with the ease with which they intend to use. Many hospitals offer plans payment and negotiate with people in relation to motherhood. Other costs related to financial planning, starting a family and go to the Article on how and estimated costs of having a baby.

What about insurance?

Insurance Group: Most insurance companies offer policies that cover the group has the birth of a child. Even if you have the franchise, coinsurance and copayments have the advantage of pre-negotiated rate and is usually the best option. Maternity coverage is a reasons for which the group insurance is so expensive. To be eligible for group insurance must work for a company that offers such insurance, or if you own your own business with at least two employees may be able to launch a group insurance plan. Florida business with an employee can also obtain group insurance for a special period in August each year.

Individual Insurance: Miami-Dade Broward, Palm Beach and the counties of most insurance companies do not offer individual health coverage for maternity at all. October 2009 Some companies that have no coverage are Aetna, Avalon, Cigna, Coventry PPO and HumanaOne. This leaves the following companies that do offer some type of coverage. Assurant, AvMed, Blue Cross / Blue Shield of Florida, a Golden Rule (a United Healthcare), and Vista. Although they cover maternity, when he began Coverage can vary considerably.

The golden rule only requires that you have cover maternity force before becoming pregnant. The disadvantage Motherhood Programme is to restrict its liability spectacular motherhood during the first two years of insurance and so usually a small proportion of the costs of maternity. Just as Blue Cross / Blue Shield of Florida has an obligation you have maternity coverage in effect for thirty days before conception and your plan includes a separate deductible or $ 1,500 or $ 2,500. After covering only 50% of costs up to a ceiling of $ 5,000. You should be aware that this limit can cost you to give most of the costs, especially if a caesarean is involved

AvMed, which has a Twelve months to wait before becoming pregnant, will cover 100% of the costs of maternity, but have a maximum of $ 5,000 and you can find both expected and important responsibility.

In the opinion of the author, the two best options are maternity Assurant and Vista. The plan has a period of Assurant wait three months, a separate deductible, and pays 100% of the costs of maternity within the network. They let you choose between different networks, and you can even call and change your network is required. The plan has Vista White 1501 months waiting period, but once you have passed you just pay for the obstetrician-gynecologist first visit by a $ 50 co-payment and a participation fee $ 1,000 for the birth. Everything else is covered 100%.

So how do you choose what is best. If you have time and family planning Many, if Assurant Plan Vista is more logical. If you are sure that vaginal delivery can be a viable solution that can cover the costs, then the rule gold or maybe Cruz Azul approach may be the best option. If you need help to reach this decision, the author may be contacted wkohn@ebmsi.com .
